The first unibrick made in the right compound in India
On the 23rd of december another box arrived: 256 unibricks in the new compound, the first unibricks made in the plastic-sand mix in which they were always designed for but up till then never made. This was a big moment and boy did they look good!
On 28th October we got the first pictures of bricks during the test run of the mould in India. On those pictures it was already clear how much a difference the compound makes in the quality and especially the dimensional tolerances; the fitting of the bricks was amazing!
Right after arrival in the workshop in Rotterdam (still wondering why they needed a full truck with just the two crates in it?), we started building with them. To compare them to the old bricks a “poof” was made; pictures can be seen below. The connections were practically flush and chinks were minimal, if even present. This is going to be interesting for the pilot building on The Green Village!
